Yearbook Production
Yearbook Production I is designed to teach students about aspects of generating a school yearbook for publication. Students in this course are involved with the production of the school’s yearbook. Aspects of study include: Purpose of a yearbook (memory book, public relations book, historical book, educational tool and reference book), theme development, coverage and content, basic layout, basic photography, basic copywriting, interviewing, copy fitting, legal issues, staff positions and teamwork.

Grading: Marking period grade is 80% of the overall grade. The marking period is graded using a point system. Total points breakdown into the following percentages:
Production:
60% (Interviews, copy, photos, layouts)
Classroom assignments/notes: 20%
Quizzes: 10%
Behavior/effort/attitude: 10%
Total: 100%
The “final exam” is 20% of the overall grade. This is an assessment of the students overall production for the marking period.
